The Dragonfly

Once there was a land far far away
The journey would take more than just a day
Reason why was the water mass
To big for any lass
To cross
Without vital loss
A man would need a year to the distance cover
So would anyone even bother?

Far far away from the land
Lived a girl who couldn't see the sand
Where she lived at her place
Snow was filling every space

Apart from this very odd thing
She could sing
Her songs were filled with heat
And they had a certain beat
The beat in her song
Had not existed for very long

During a period that had been warm
The snow had been gone to show every corm
Then she had met a lovely boy
With him there was no ploy
Only laughter and pure joy
Under the skies of a Dragonfly's wing
That's where she had begun to sing

He was the reason for her song
There was no way in which that could be wrong
But he lived in the land mentioned above
Far far away from her love

So every night she would chant
Without being even the slightest bit rant
In hope he could hear
Her singing in his ear
For once again they would meet
History would be written on a blank sheet

She knew she could cross the line
Their bodies would entwine
Together they would mend into one
Separate the two of them could none

Under the eye of a shimmering dragon
Riding in a wagon
High up in the air
The view was fair
A starry night
With a late flight
It was again as it should be
They could eachother see

The other pair of eyes
Gave no room for any lies
But a thank you to summer's embrace ever so mild
Which lead the two to into a dance this wild
That they would cross water and land
Only to once again hold the other's hand

All thanks to the magnificent Dragonfly
